Why Should You Try Veganuary?

What is Veganuary?

Veganuary serves to inspire people to try being vegan for the month of January. Being vegan means you abstain from animal products and this abstinence can range from just your diet to the products used. For example, clothing, hygiene, and cosmetics.

Animals we consume are producing a great deal of carbon pollution in our environment. Whether it comes from their upkeep or their slaughter, it all produces a great deal of refuse.

Adopting a vegan diet can prove difficult, especially if you do not know what kind of meals to prepare or what to order at restaurants.

How to Start?

The Impossible burger can be a good option to help you transition to being vegan. It tastes JUST like meat, but it isn’t meat. Once you taste it, you will be highly doubtful but if you look at the texture you will see that it is different.

While traveling, your options for eating vegan can be quite limited. Beans, rice, and tofu can serve as great staples. Vegetables help in making the meal more filling.

Protein powders made from vegetables can also be delicious when you are short on time. I recommend Vega protein powder in chocolate since it has a non-chalky texture in smoothies. Restaurant options include Indian and Mexican food which have a good deal of vegan options (don’t forget, no cheese!).

The positive effect on the environment can offset the challenges of being vegan.

What Are the Benefits?

Plenty of celebrities praise vegan diets as a way to greatly improve their health and sense of well-being. Even Beyoncé and Jay-Z are challenging their fans to try a vegan diet for 2019.

Being vegan can be difficult but if we all spend just one month giving it a try, maybe we can limit our footprint on the environment. And as an added bonus, you may even lose some weight!

One response to “Why Should You Try Veganuary?”

  1. I’ve been a vegan for almost 4 years now. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. Lucky for us, eating out, buying alternatives at the grocery stores, and finding great new products are getting easier and easier.
