Halloween Reads| The Haunting of _____ by Darcy Coates
The Haunting of _____ series by Darcy Coates is the fourth entry into my Halloween Reads selections and they are one of my scarier choices. Rather than go into each one separately, I had to put them all into one review. Because if you’re like me, once you read one-you’ll be longing for more!
What’s It About?
They all center on a protagonist whether they be male or female, coming into a circumstance that lands them into inheriting, living in, or visiting a haunted house. The hauntings range in their danger with most of them leading to nearly certain death! For the most part, almost all of our protagonists are racing to find a way out of the hell that is the house.
My Thoughts
Each story grips you from the start with the odd goings on and fear inducing atmosphere. As you continue through the book you are drawn along with the protagonist as they experience the supernatural in the house. As things get more dangerous, you’re increasingly anxious and fearful along with the character!
Overall Impression
The Haunting of series are great to truly put you in the Halloween scary mood and experience a haunt through the character’s viewpoint. These are great reads leading up to Halloween night and are not to be taken lightly!
