The last novel Radiant Sin didn’t hold me as much as the others in the series. So I was nervous for this next title but still hoping for the best. I was NOT disappointed in Cruel Seduction by Katee Robert. The spice level was sizzling and had me blushing as I flew through the pages!

What’s It About?
Aphrodite is ruthless when it comes to protecting her beloved city of Olympus. So much so that she is willing to marry public enemy number one, the newly christened Hephaestus.
Hoping to keep Hephaestus out of sorts, Aphrodite hatches a plan to seduce his closest friend Pandora. But when he decides to pay her in kind by seducing her ex, Adonis, things start to get messy. Especially when it seems this game of seduction is starting to get hearts involved.
With Olympus breaking into unrest, lives are in danger. Can Aphrodite and Hephaestus put their games aside in time to survive?
My Thoughts
The way this book started had me in no way prepared for how it ended or developed. The love hate dynamic was filled with delicious tension. But as the story progressed things got ever more interesting.
There was an undercurrent of tension that kept me flipping the pages to see what what happen next. Especially as the danger and stakes grew higher and higher.
I definitely enjoy how the author builds the characters. It stays true to the nuances that all of us can experience. That makes the story that much more relatable. It also keeps you rooting for the characters and tuned in to see what will happen next.
The pacing of this story was much more riveting than the last in the series. I am already looking to get the next installment to see what will happen to the city of Olympus.
Overall Impression
If you are looking for a romantic novel that is full of action and passion then I suggest you give this a read! Just don’t be surprised if you find yourself looking around to make sure no one is watching!
