Movie Review| The Woman King
Summary
Inspired by true events during the 1800s. The Agojie are a group of elite women warriors tasked with protecting the African kingdom of Dahomey. We follow the journey of Nanisca, general of the Agojie, as she prepares new recruits to face a great threat to their way of life.
My Thoughts
This film was visually stunning. I enjoyed the plot and the character development. The performance Viola Davis delivered along with the rest of the cast was emotionally moving. I was inspired by the training of warrior women which was admirable and exciting.
The direction they took with combining facts and a fictionalized story was refreshing. I highly recommend this movie for those looking for an action packed movie based on real historical events.
