It’s once again that time of year when romance becomes the top of everyone’s mind. For me, I enjoy a good romance no matter the season! I decided to try a new category with these romantic-comedy inspired podcast series by RomComPods.

Honeymoon For One

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Summary

A fun night out of karaoke the week before her wedding turns into a heartbreaking wake up call for Claire when she spots her fiancé out with another woman! Reeling, broke, and heartbroken from the cheating scandal, she has no choice but to take a non-refundable honeymoon…solo.

My Thoughts

This was a satisfying storyline all around. I enjoyed the gradual build of the relationships and Claire was a character I could relate with which made me invested in her. I recommend this for women that have been burned before that could use an encouraging redemption story!

Showmance

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Summary

Casey has just broken up with her boyfriend who also happens to be her boss. As a part of the fallout she is offered a job launching the British spin-off of a cooking show she successfully produced. She heads to London in the hopes of finding new love but is surprised when she finds it twice!

My Thoughts

The banter and dynamics in this series was fun however some of the characters weren’t exactly my favorite. Our heroine frustrated me at times but it did reflect the way we can sometimes behave in real life. All in all this is a good pick for those who love food and are weak for a British accent.

Vote For Love

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Summary

Lucy had the perfect first date, at least she thought so until she got ghosted. Moving forward, she interns for the governor of Texas who is rumored to have a very cute son. It’s eight years later and the governor has set his sights on the presidency. Lucy has grown in her career and is set to become campaign manager IF she is able to get the governor’s now superstar son on board. Unfortunately he just so happens to be the same guy that ghosted her all those years ago!

My Thoughts

I enjoyed the tension in the dynamic between the couple and their growth from such a rocky start. It was nice to have a woman that was ambitious as the lead. The music intertwined in the show was nice as well. I recommend this podcast for those who enjoy a strong female lead and are fans of the campaign trail.
